Flávio Reitz disputou o Parapan na modalidade salto em altura
O atleta e ex-paciente do Hospital Erasto Gaertner Flávio Reitz, recordista brasileiro e competidor da modalidade salto em altura, conquistou a medalha de prata em sua participação nos Jogos Parapan-Americanos, em Toronto (Canadá). Flávio, que está curado de um câncer no fêmur há 13 anos e possui apenas uma perna, impressionou ao vencer adversários com duas pernas no salto em altura da classe T42/44/47, com paratletas amputados ou com má formação em algum membro.
O competidor já participou de eventos realizados pelo Hospital, como a IV Jornada de Cuidados Paliativos, na qual ele ministrou uma palestra sobre Dor e Superação. Ele costuma dizer que a vida é uma benção e não pode ser descartada pela falta de um membro. “As pessoas costumam falar que têm uma admiração muito grande pelo que eu faço, pela capacidade que desenvolvi de fazer salto em altura só com uma perna, sem uso de nada (de prótese), e uma boa parte fala que é assustador ver a capacidade que a gente tem. Alguns perguntam como faço, eu digo que não sei”, conta Flávio.

Agora, Flávio Reitz, que nasceu em Francisco Beltrão (PR) e atualmente reside em Itajaí (SC), competirá no Mundial de Doha 2015 e também nas Olimpíadas Rio 2016. O paranaense lidera ranking mundial com a marca alcançada no Canadá. A coluna parabeniza o atleta Flávio Reitz.
