Juarez Machado inaugura no próximo dia 29 de novembro, às 19 horas, no Museu Guido Viaro, a exposição “Estive e estou Curitiba”. São 23 obras selecionadas pelo artista, que retratam períodos diversos de sua carreira recente, após uma longa temporada sem expor na capital paranaense.

A marchand Liliana Cabral, da Artestil Galeria de Arte, que promove a exposição, conta que há trabalhos da mostra comemorativa dos 70 anos de Juarez, em 2011, outros realizados após esta mostra e seis telas da coleção “Tangos”. O traço e as cores características do artista estão presentes em todas as obras. “Esta é uma exposição muito interessante, pois tem a impressão digital do Juarez. Ele escolheu pessoal e afetuosamente as 23 obras que vamos expor, pois há tempos não voltava a Curitiba, onde tem muitos admiradores”, conta Liliana.

O catálogo da exposição traz um texto delicioso da jornalista Marina Colasanti e a apresentação do crítico de arte Fernando Bini. Amiga de Juarez Machado desde os anos 1970, Marina lembra da pluralidade artística do amigo que desde as cadeiras da Faculdade de Belas Artes, em Curitiba, na década de 1960, foi cenógrafo, decorador, desenhista, escultor, caricaturista, ilustrador, cartunista, jornalista, ator e até mímico.

Atualmente, Juarez divide seu tempo entre os ateliês de Paris, Rio de Janeiro e Joinville, onde ao lado da mulher Melina, comanda o Instituto Internacional Juarez Machado.
