Internado desde o dia 9, cantor foi vítima de complicações por conta de uma pneumonia
O cantor Cauby Peixoto morreu na noite deste domingo, 15, por volta das 23h50, em São Paulo. O artista, que tinha 85 anos, estava internado no hospital Sancta Maggiore, no Itaim Bibi, e a informação foi confirmada por sua assessoria de imprensa. “É verdade, infelizmente. Em breve, soltaremos um comunicado oficial com todas as informações”, disse o responsável.
Segundo a assessoria de imprensa do hospital, a morte do cantor foi causada por complicações por conta de um quadro de pneumonia. Ele estava no centro médico desde o último dia 9. O velório de Cauby está sendo realizado no salão nobre da Assembléia Legislativa do Estado de São Paulo desde as das 9 horas da manhã.
Na página oficial de Cauby no Facebook, foi colocado um comunicado sobre a morte do músico: “Com muita dor e pesar informamos aos amigos e fãs que nosso ídolo Cauby Peixoto acaba de falecer as 23:50 do dia 15 de maio. Foi em paz e nos deixa com eterna saudades. Pra sempre Cauby!”.
Última entrevista
Na sexta-feira, 13, foi ao ar uma entrevista que Cauby concedeu ao “Vídeo Show”, na Globo. Durante a conversa, ele aparentava estar bem de saúde e relembrou a época em que as fãs rasgavam suas roupas. O programa também promoveu o encontro de Cauby com o cantor
Gabriel Diniz, que se inspira no estilo do artista.

Em setembro de 2015, Cauby chegou a cancelar um show por conta de uma gripe. Sua assessoria, na ocasião, garantiu que não era nada grave. “A gripe que anda derrubando muita gente por aí é a grande culpada pelo cancelamento do show que Cauby Peixoto faria no Teatro Rival Petrobras, neste sábado, dia 12. O cantor de 85 anos, que mora em São Paulo, não foi autorizado pelo médico a viajar com a saúde debilitada”, avisava o comunicado.
