Para comemorar o Dia Internacional do Idoso, comemorado em 1° de Outubro, as Secretarias da Saúde e da Justiça, Cidadania e Direitos Humanos, em conjunto com a Fundação de Apoio e Valoriazação do Idoso farão atividades educativas, culturais e de lazer durante todo o dia no Museu Oscar Niemayer.
A data foi instituída pela Organização Mundial da Saúde em 2003, e o objetivo principal é mostrar a situação do idoso na sociedade e gerar a discussão sobre os direitos garantidos à população da terceira idade.
“Promover a saúde do idoso é proporcionar seu bem estar físico, mental e social. Não devemos apenas prevenir ou tratar doenças, mas também assegurar que o idoso viva em um ambiente saudável, sem violência”, diz o Secretário da Saúde de Curitiba, Michele Caputo Netto.
