A TVA renovou sua parceria com o Projeto Tamar, na Barra da Lagoa, em Florianópolis. A operadora está divulgando o projeto no canal 40 com objetivo de contribuir para a conscientização da população sobre a preservação das tartarugas marinhas. Além disso, mensalmente a TVA presenteia assinantes de Florianópolis com convites para visitação.
Em Florianópolis é possível encontrar as cinco espécies de tartarugas marinhas que vivem no Brasil. Desde 2005, sedia uma base do Projeto Tamar na Barra da Lagoa, a 25 Km do centro da cidade, na costa leste da ilha. A base tem um papel estratégico na redução de capturas de tartarugas marinhas pela pesca industrial e artesanal , bastante desenvolvidada no litoral sul do país. O Projeto trabalha para sensibilização, conscientização e informação sobre o impacto dessa atividade sobre as tartarugas, que vão para a região em busca de alimento, abrigo e repouso.
